Page's Premium Brands - About Us The sign in the kitchen of her new 1000 square foot facility reads:
"You don't have to be nuts to work here...Oh wait, Yes you do!"
Tracy Page, Owner and creative mind behind Nashville's Page's Premium
Brands says of her growing gourmet specialty business, "The
music business drove me Nuts!"
The Arizona native, a singer/songwriter and gourmet
entrepreneur, has been a resident of Nashville
for over 15 years. Her newest venture, Page's Premium Brands
Gourmet Specialty Products began
of Tracy's love of cooking and her creative mind. Tracy's first
product, a gourmet nut mix called the
"Original; sweet, salty, spicy, nutty, fruity, chocolaty Mix"
evolved from her experimenting with unusual and unexpected
flavor combinations,
and once perfected, she started giving bags of it to her friends
and co-workers with
a bottle of wine during the holidays and as gifts.
Managing a cosmetics department at a Nashville Boutique at the
time,
her co-workers "Went Nuts over the mix (pun intended)"!
and as she made bigger and bigger batches, "Inspiration struck!"
After tinkering with new recipes and locating some unusual and
exotic ingredients,
her "Monkey Krunch", "Smokin' Southwest Blend", and "Asian
Persuasion"
blends were born.
Page's Premium Brands was officially launched in October of
2005, with The Produce Place
and Opryland Hotel being her first two retailers. Loews
Vanderbilt Hotel's
Chief Executive Chef, Elaine Taubin, tried Tracy's products and
"commissioned me to come up with an exclusive Loews Vanderbilt
blend",
of which she now delivers them 30 lbs a week.
The inspiration continues as her gourmet nut mixes have grown to
eight, including her
"Chocolate Lover's Blend", "Music City Munchie Mix", "Skinny
Mix" (sugar free),
and the seasonal "Mistletoe Mix". In addition, Tracy created her
very popular
"Twang Town Brittle" recipe, (which includes almonds, Spanish
peanuts, pistachios and
coconut) for which she was invited to appear on WSMV Channel 4's
"More at Midday",
and she also lovingly offers her "Proper English Toffee", her
English Mother's recipe,
adding "I have no idea how old the recipe is, but it's the best
toffee I've ever tasted, Thanks Mom!".
Still inspired and picking up steam (and retailers) she is
gearing up to launch
seven new products into the marketplace. "I'm thrilled", adding
with a smile,
"It's good to be Nuts"!
